SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - A former Alabama correctional officer has been arrested in connection with several sexual assault incidents.
Sandy Springs police, along with several other agencies, arrested Matthew Moore, 48, who is believed to be responsible for a series of sexual assaults in Georgia.
Investigations revealed cases related to this incident that go as far back as far as 10 years.
Moore, of St. Clair County, Alabama, has warrants out for his arrest on charges including aggravated sodomy, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault with intent to rape, false imprisonment, and two counts of aggravated assault.
Authorities told 11Alive that they do not believe Moore is connected to other sexual assaults by an alleged police impersonator in Cobb and Fulton counties.
