COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — One person is dead, and firefighters are still working to learn the cause of a Cowetta house fire on Friday night.
Coweta County Fire Rescue received a call just after 9 p.m. regarding a fire at a home on Sargent Farmer Street.
Firefighting crews began putting out the flames when they discovered several occupants within the residence. In a valiant rescue effort, two family members were successfully pulled from the inferno and taken to an Atlanta area hospital.
One occupant was declared deceased at the scene. The fire is suspected to have originated in the front section of the home, although the precise cause remains undetermined as investigations are underway.
