ATLANTA — Atlanta Public Schools has adjusted its schedule for elementary and high school students.

Elementary school students will have 6.5 hours of daily instructional time starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending 30 minutes earlier at 2:15 p.m. Students currently dismiss at 2:45 p.m.

For high school students, the day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. Currently, high school starts at 8:45 a.m. and dismisses at 3:45 p.m.

The change will not affect the middle school day.

Back in June of 2021, the school district altered their schedule after receiving feedback from sessions regarding the district's three-year recovery plan.

The new changes for Atlanta Public Schools will go into effect beginning in the fall of the 2024-2025 school year.
