ATLANTA — Thrill seekers have a top-class roller coaster experience awaiting this weekend at Six Flags Over Georgia.
It's the park's Coaster Fest on Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18.
Several unique experiences are on offer for those who take advantage of the special two-day $70 ticket. It's the second year in a row Six Flags has hosted Coaster Fest.
Here's a rundown of what's going on:

- Tickets: As noted above, the ticket includes park admission for both days and costs $70
- Special ride times: Six Flags says exclusive ride times will be made available for Coaster Fest ticketholders to enjoy lower crowds outside of normal park hours for some of the park's most popular rides and roller coasters.
- Lift hill walks: This requires an additional fee, but allows you to actually walk the lifts of roller coasters including Goliath, Blue Hawk and BATMAN: The Ride.
- Behind the scenes offering: According to Six Flags, you'll be able to tour the park maintenance shop and the inner workings of rides including Hurricane Harbor Atlanta, Monster Mansion, a Fright Fest haunted house and more.
- Park presentation: Six Flags says there will be a special presentation with the park's leadership team.
- Roller Coaster 5k: No, this isn't a road race -- you can ride 16,404 feet of coaster track in one day to win an exclusive prize, Six Flags says.
- Meals: The all-day experience Saturday includes a continental breakfast in the morning, catered lunch in the afternoon and a catered luau in the evening.
- Coca Cola VIP Lounge: Access available all day with purchase of event ticket.
