BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — Officials in Barrow County reported a small plane crashed into warehouses on Saturday morning.
According to Barrow County Emergency Services, units were called to an airplane crash at Barrow Mini Warehouses in the 1000 block of Atlanta Hwy SE around 11:30 a.m.
Two people were on the plane, according to authorities, and one suffered minor injuries. The other person was unhurt.
According to Scott Dakin with Barrow County Emergency Services, firefighters arrived to find a small aircraft that was upside down beside one of the storage warehouses.
"The aircraft had hit the roof of the warehouse and flipped over, coming to rest alongside the building," he said.
The agency added that the storage warehouses were damaged along one side of the roof as a result of the crash Firefighters also fuel leaking from the plane but said they were able to contain and stop it.
As for the cause, officials said the plane was coming in for a landing and struck a post near the runway, forcing it to crash land into the warehouses.
The incident will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
