Woman spots snakes slithering around Piedmont Park

Three snakes were seen slithering around in Piedmont Park on Wednesday afternoon.

ATLANTA — Courtney Bush was in Piedmont Park in Atlanta when she said she saw a sight she never thought she'd see -- snakes!

It was around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday on a bright, sunny day, when she said she saw three giant snakes in the area.

"I wasn't expecting to see that in the park," she told 11Alive's Cody Alcorn.

She took videos that even showed one of them slowly slithering across a sidewalk in the park. One of the snakes was yellow, and Bush stated that because of the color, it nearly blended in. People were riding their bikes through the grass, and people with dogs didn't even see it.

11Alive contacted the Atlanta Police Department and Fulton County Animal Services. The latter said that it didn't seem like the snakes were domesticated but that officials would notify wildlife to see if they could be captured and then relocated.

We will provide an update once we know more.
