FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Donald Hawbaker, the vice chairman of the Spalding County Board of Commissioners, was arrested on Monday and charged with DUI, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
In a booking photo provided to 11Alive, Hawbaker, an attorney, can be seen with a wide smile.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office said Hawbaker had been arrested by the Peachtree City Police Department. He was charged with DUI of alcohol.
Hawbaker, who represents District 5 in Spalding County, was released on Tuesday morning on a $3,250 bond.
According to his board of commissioners bio, Hawbaker is a father of five, grandfather of seven and the son of a Baptist minister.
He has served on the board of commissioners since 2015.
