Student stabbed during altercation at Sprayberry High by another student; suspect in custody

According to a district spokesperson, the campus is now secure.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police responded to Sprayberry High School on Wednesday after a student was stabbed by another student, according to police and the district.

The suspect is in custody and the campus is secure, the Cobb County School District said, and Cobb County Police said there was "no danger to the student population or the surrounding area."

The department said there was an altercation and that a student was stabbed. The district said one student "used a knife to injure another student."

The statement added the victim "has been treated for their injuries." There was no additional information on the condition of the victim.
