DALTON, Ga. – A woman has died after being stabbed at a home in Dalton on Thursday, police said.
Dalton Police say they were called to the home on Elaine Way after a report of a stabbing. As emergency medical technicians staged near the scene waiting for police to arrive, they saw a man bleeding outside the home.
The man, identified as 48-year-old David Dyer, allegedly fought with an EMT and was then placed under arrest by a responding officer.
Dyer was taken to the hospital with what police said appeared to be self-inflicted stab wounds to his wrists.
Inside the home, police found Dyer's wife, Glenda Dyer, with stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital, where she passed away on Sunday, according to Bruce Frazier of the Dalton Police Department.
The EMT was taken to Hamilton Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
Police said they expect to charge David Dyer with murder. He is already charged with aggravated battery, battery and felony interference with an EMS worker by violence.
