DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police detectives are investigating a shooting in a Lithonia neighborhood where two people were hurt Tuesday afternoon, they said.
A spokesperson with the department said authorities were called to a home along Lake Circle just before 12:30 p.m. When police got to the area, they found a man and woman believed to be in their 20s shot.
According to police, both were taken to a nearby hospital seriously hurt.
Authorities thought a suspect may have been inside the home so a SWAT team was activated to help. The unit helped with the search, but no one was inside, police said.
Officers have turned over the investigation to the DeKalb County Police Department's Homicide Assault Unit. Officers did not offer any suspect details or a motive for the shooting.
