(WXIA) -- Target announced last week that they were planning to close 11 stores across the nation, including one in Lithonia, on February 1, 2015.
The chain says the decision to close the stores -- which included three stores in Michigan, two in Illinois and one each in Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Texas in addition to the 8109 Mall Parkway store in Lithonia -- was made after careful consideration of the long-term financial performance of the stores.
"All eligible store team members are being offered the option to transfer to other Target stores," the company said in a release. "Team members who choose not to transfer will be offered a separation package."
