The sun is out and the 50th annual Yellow Daisy Festival is underway at Stone Mountain Park.
The arts and crafts festival brings together artists, musicians and vendors from across the country. One of the most time-honored traditions is generations of mothers, daughters and grandmothers who go out on the trails in search of the perfect Yellow Daisy, a rare flower found on the hiking trails in Stone Mountain Park.
The events take place in the Events Meadow, with shopping vendors adjacent to the meadow. There are food trucks and vendors selling burgers, funnel cakes, kettle corn, Italian ice and corn dogs.
Coolers are allowed but are subject to search, according to the festival website. Alcohol and glass containers are not allowed.
For those looking to spend a weekend in the park, there are two Marriott Hotel properties inside the park and camping available, with shuttles going back and forth to the festival.
The festival runs through Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018.
