Students injured after school buses crash in Atlanta

The Atlanta Public School System said one bus rear-ended the other.

Two school buses crashed Tuesday after schoolAccording to the Atlanta Fire Department, the buses collided near the intersection of Collier Rd. NW and Defoor Ave. NW just after 3 p.m. 

The Atlanta Public School System said one bus rear-ended the other. After the crash, the two school buses pulled over in a parking lot for a Goodwill Donation Center. Video from SkyTracker11 shows at least three firetrucks and an ambulance were on the scene.

Parents also arrived at the crash site to pick up students. 11Alive reporter Chenue Her took this picture of front-end damage to one of the buses.

More than 50 students were on the buses from E. Rivers Elementary School and seven were transported to the hospital for minor injuries, according to Atlanta Police Department.
