The man accused of shooting and killing a police officer has died.
Riverdale Police Chief Todd Spivey confirmed to 11Alive that Jerand Ross, 24, died.
Ross was accused of shooting and killing Riverdale Police Major Greg Barney on Feb. 11. Barney was shot four times while he was assisting in the serving of a no-knock drug warrant.
He was also shot and was listed in critical condition when he was transported to Atlanta Medical Center.

The incident happened at the Villages on the River apartment complex, located at 6603 Church St. in Riverdale around 11:30 a.m. that morning.
According to agents, Ross ran out of the back door of this building at the apartment complex when police came to serve a no-knock search warrant.
Witnesses told agents, they saw Ross with two handguns and that he threw one of them behind the building.
According to the GBI, the suspect shot Major Barney twice, then pointed his gun at a Clayton County Officer who shot Ross in the head.

On Feb. 11, members of the Riverdale Police Department were supporting Clayton County Police serve a no-knock warrant when shots were exchanged. Maj. Barney was shot in the abdomen and the arm. He was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center, where he later died. He was not wearing a bullet-proof vest, officials said.
Two more people were arrested in the apartment at the center of the raid. Clayton County Police Department Drug Task Force arrested Joey C. King and Robert Dixon Jr.
