MARIETTA, Ga. — A man wanted out of Tennessee was arrested Wednesday night after an hours-long SWAT standoff at a home in Marietta, police said.

The standoff began around 6 p.m. when the phone of a suspect wanted for aggravated assault with a weapon out of Bedford County, Tennessee, pinged in the area.

Police discovered the man was at a relative's home, although the relative had nothing to do with the crime, according to Marietta PD.

Everyone inside the home got out safely before the suspect surrendered a little more than two hours later, just after 8 p.m., police said.

Marietta Police said the man was taken into custody after a combined effort between their police department, Cobb County Police and the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.

He will be booked into the Cobb County Jail before being extradited back to Tennessee, the police department added.
