Tin Lizzy's location in Grant Park closes up shop

The popular location had been in operation for 14 years, a sign posted to the door said. Other Tin Lizzy's locations remain operating.

ATLANTA — The popular Tin Lizzy's location in Grant Park has closed up shop.

Long a neighborhood staple in the area thanks in part to its roof deck overlooking Oakland Cemetery, its signage has been brought down and a notice was posted to the door Wednesday.

The web page for the particular location has also gone down, and Google search results list it as permanently closed.

There was no reason given for the closure in the notice on the door, which said "Thank you Grant Park."

"After 14 years, we are sad to say goodbye to the Grant Park community. Thank you for the many lunches, dinners and late-night drinks you shared as our guests! We will especially miss the Grant Park neighborhood, all the employees from the Capitol building and, of course, all the men and women in blue! It was our pleasure to serve you, and we hope to see you at our other nearby locations," the notice said.

The location had been in operation for 14 years, the notice said. Other Tin Lizzy's locations - in Downtown Atlanta, East Cobb, Kennesaw, Mall of Georgia, Midtown, Perimeter Center and Buckhead - remain in operation.

It had long been a watering hole for state workers from the Capitol nearby as well as Braves employees when the team was still at nearby Turner Field.
