The tornado watch for southern metro Atlanta has been canceled, as a storm system continues to move through the area on Monday.
Heavy rain pounded the state early Monday, prompting a flood watch in most of the state and a flood warning in several counties, 11Alive's Chesley McNeil said.
A severe weather threat remains in effect until later Monday, especially in areas south of the metro area, McNeil said. The main threat is potential wind damage.
The flood watch is expected to expire Tuesday at 2 a.m. The flood watch includes most parts of north, middle and western Georgia.
