DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two Clarkston High School students have been arrested after a report of a weapon on campus that forced the school into a lockdown on Friday, the principal said in a letter to parents.
DeKalb County School District Police responded to the school on Friday after reports of a student with a weapon on campus. The principal said that two students were later taken into custody and will face disciplinary action.
"We commend the swift actions taken by our staff and DCSD Police in handling this situation promptly and professionally. As always, we encourage students and families to continue to use our highly effective practice of 'See Something, Say Something' by telling a parent/guardian or staff member any time they suspect there may be an unsafe situation at school," Principal Pattie Lemelle said.
