ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Georgia Police said they found the body of a 21-year-old student in a locked dorm room Tuesday evening.
Wednesday morning, they identified the student as David Peacock Braun of Marietta. He was a third-year computer science major at UGA.
Police said that at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, they received a call from university housing officials, indicating that students were concerned about a suitemate in Vandiver Hall.
Officers went to the room, and after not getting a response when knocking, used a key to gain entry. They found Braun dead inside the room.
Braun's body was taken by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said the body showed no obvious signs of foul play.
