ATLANTA -- A University of Georgia student injured in a crash that killed four of her friends is speaking for the first time since the accident.
Agnes Kim has been hospitalized in critical condition since the fatal car crash on April 27.
A video of Kim thanking supporters was posted on a crowd-funding page on Monday. In the video, Kim says "Thank you for praying me. I am getting better. Thank you. I love you all."
According to the crowd-funding page, friends of Kim write that she began speaking as of September 4.
"This is a huge step in her recovery, and her family hopes that she'll be on her feet and out of Shepherd soon," the post states.
Kim has been recovering from the accident that killed Kayla Canedo, 19, of Alpharetta; Brittany Feldman, 20, of Alpharetta; Christina Semeria, 19, of Milton; and Halle Scott, 19, of Dunwoody. Kim was the driver, authorities have said.
Back in May, Kim was transferred to The Shepherd Center's Brain Injury Unit, Disorders of Consciousness Program, which is for patients "are semi-comatose or minimally conscious." In June, friends said that Kim was no longer in a coma.
As of Sept. 5, nearly $68,000 had been raised for Kim. An August 3 post stated, "Once she is discharged from the Shepherd Center, there will be a good bit of expenses for the modifications that the Kims will need to make to their home in order to facilitate Agnes's recovery." Abby Short, the driver of the other car, was also injured in the crash. She has been treated and released from the hospital, but family members said back in May that she was still facing future surgeries.
