WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Walton County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Detention Officer David "DJ" Carter was killed in a crash on Monroe Jersey Road Tuesday night, according to authorities.
In a post on Facebook, the sheriff's office said Carter was "committed to his job and was, in fact, headed to work an extra shift."
