STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- Police say they have found a man wanted for a murder at a hotel in Stockbridge. Now a community is taking this moment to remember the victim.
Henry County Police report Tory Leroy Jones, 44 is the suspect for the murder of 40-year-old Elimisha Maryetta Gates on Aug. 23 at the Express Inn & Suites. According to police, Jones and Gates were in a relationship.
The initial call went out as a person down at 619 W. Hwy 13. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim dead.
Jones was found with the help of U.S. Marshals on Friday in Huntsville, Ala. Henry County police detectives will remain in Huntsville in order to continue their investigation.
Family and friends held a vigil for Gates on Saturday to remember her life.
