MARIETTA, Ga. — Before 6 a.m. in Marietta a fire broke out at a landfill according to reports and video from the 11Alvive SkyTracker on Friday morning.
No information has been released from authorities but the fire is at the dump located on County Services Parkway. Looking at chopper footage, crews are working to battle the flames and get to the source of the fire.
According to the Cobb County government website, the waste disposal site is designed to "handle waste traffic, annually managing over 150,000 transactions involving private and municipal haulers as well as the general public. The facility annually processes over 90,000 tons of solid waste in an environmentally friendly manner."
