ATLANTA — The watershed department said a reported water main break near Mary Mac's Tea Room in Atlanta on Saturday morning has been fixed.
According to a post on X, formally known as Twitter, Atlanta Watershed Department said it happened at 216 Ponce De Leon Avene NE. The break is six inches, officials said around 8:30 a.m.
As of 12 p.m., the department said water service was restored to those impacted.
Watershed previously said that the outage could cut off water access for seven homes, two apartment complexes and two fire hydrants.
No other information was provided about road closures or when the water main break would be fixed.
This break comes just days after crews fixed an 8-inch water main break at the intersection of Kingsboro Road and Lakeside Drive in Buckhead on Thursday. This is just a little over a month after widespread water main breaks caused massive issues in the City of Atlanta, enforcing a boil water advisory for nearly a week and causing major damage to nearby businesses. The water main breaks in late May and early June caused a state of emergency to be declared in the city.
