Atlanta's 2018 women's march only drew about 200 people Saturday morning, while other similarly planned events nationwide drew hundreds of thousands.
The march began around 11:30 am and took protestors on an almost two-mile march from Woodruff Park around the Government Mile loop.
Participants were encouraged to "spend a day riding the rails in peaceful protest."
A related event, called Power to the Polls, was held from noon to 4 pm at The Bakery on Warner Street. Speakers included Women's March national leaders Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory, Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams, Congressman Hank Johnson and Planned Parenthood Southwest CEO Staci Fox.
Last year, an estimated 60,000 people took part in a women's march in downtown Atlanta while millions more took part in similar events nationwide. On Saturday events are planned around the country to mark the first anniversary of the marches.
