ATLANTA — A woman is critical after being shot multiple times in Atlanta Friday night.
Police responded just before 9:30 p.m. to the 300 block of Parkway Drive Northeast, in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, after getting calls of a woman shot. The location is not far from Central Park, between Ralph McGill Boulevard and North Avenue.
When officers got there, they found the woman with gunshot wounds, but she was alert and breathing. Police said the 34-year-old woman had been shot multiple times.
Emergency officials took the woman to the hospital for treatment, where she is currently listed as critical.
Authorities have detailed a possible suspect, but police have not yet released any details on what may have led up to the shooting. Video from the scene appeared to show officers interviewing witnesses and entering a home.
No other information, including that of the person detained, have been released.
