NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Editor's note: A previous version of the story misidentified the victim.
An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside of her Newton County home on Monday.
Officers responded to the home around 4:15 p.m. for a welfare check at a home off Skyview Drive after the mother of the victim said she hadn't heard from her daughter since Saturday, deputies said.
After deputies obtained a search warrant to enter the home, they found the woman inside.
Newton County Sheriff's Office said they are investigating her death as a "presumed homicide."
