DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman in DeKalb County was arrested early Monday after her husband was shot in a Lithonia home.
Bruce Howard, 49, was found at a home on Edenberry Way around 1:30 a.m. when police arrived to the house for reports of a shooting, DeKalb Police said. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
DeKalb County Police said that a gun was found in the backyard of the home, but it is not clear if it was involved in Howard's death. Investigators said the shooting was a "domestic situation" and officers had been called to the home before.
Howard's wife, Aimee Howard, 45, was taken into custody in reference to the shooting and is waiting to be booked into jail, officials said. The investigation into Bruce Howard’s death is ongoing.
