ATLANTA — Three boys have been arrested after a woman reported being robbed by three young boys while she was walking along the BeltLine on Easter Sunday.
It reportedly happened around 8 p.m. along the westside trail.
According to initial information from police, the woman was walking along the trail when three boys who appeared to be between 8 and 10-years-old approached her to ask if they could use her phone. She told them no, but when they continued to ask, she told police she threw the device at them.
She told police that one of the boys flashed a gun hidden in his waistband and demanded her AirPods, which she also tossed to them.
After getting the phone and wireless headphones, the woman said the three ran off toward Lawton Street.
Three suspects -- two 11-year-old boys and another 11-year-old -- have been arrested, Atlanta Police said Tuesday.
11Alive went to the trail Monday, the day after the robbery, and saw two officers walking the area. When contacted by us, Atlanta Police said the police path force has begun "focusing some of their efforts on the Westside trail as investigators work to locate and identify the suspects involved in this incident."
