LAGRANGE, Ga. — A woman was flown to the hospital after being severely burned in LaGrange, according to the fire department on Friday.
It happened around 3:34 a.m., LaGrange Fire Department said in a wooded area behind the 950 LaFayette Parkway. When firefighters arrived, they found a 51-year-old woman who'd been badly burned below the hip.
Fire officials said the fire happened near a tent being used for shelter, adding that a man was cooking on a portable gas stove outside the tent.
Crews put the fire out the fire and rendered air to the woman. She was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment. Fire officials reported no other injuries.
