COBB COUNTY, Ga. — 11Alive is getting answers after a Cobb County viewer said she was woken up before the sun was even up by construction by her home near the Battery.
She recorded the ruckus right outside her window at 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Vicki Mattle said she typically deals with construction noise outside the Courtland Apartments from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but never this early.
"The light was coming in from the blinds," she described. "I could not believe anyone would start construction at 4 a.m.!"
Mattle told 11Alive construction representatives told her the reason for the early start times for construction had to do with traffic - that the company couldn't get the cement trucks through daytime traffic.
So, 11Alive set out to get some answers for Mattle.
Both the Braves and the Courtland Apartments immediately responded, saying it was a "rogue subcontractor" who was onsite working earlier than allowed.
"Our residents’ living experiences are very important to us, and a 4AM start time is unacceptable," said a spokesperson for the apartment complex.
A spokesperson for the Braves also told 11Alive the issue has been addressed and no work will be done before 7 a.m.
