MARIETTA, Ga. — Classic Atlanta cheesesteak purveyor Woody's is heading to the suburbs for the first time.
Woody's CheeseSteaks signed a lease to open a restaurant at Church Street in Downtown Marietta, developer Bridger Properties announced. The restaurant plans to move into a roughly 1,300-square-foot space and open by the end of this year.
Woody's opened on Monroe Drive in Midtown Atlanta in 1975. Under new ownership, the restaurant expanded with a second location in Buckhead in 2018. Woody's added a stall inside the Southern Feedstore mini-food hall in East Atlanta in 2021.
“We have been looking to expand outside of the Atlanta market for years," owners Steven Renner and Matt Porcelli said in a prepared statement.
The Marietta location will serve a menu similar to Woody's other restaurants, according to a news release.
