Police are responding after a woman's body was found.
According to DeKalb County Police, multiple people were walking a trail near the 900 block of Lake Drive Court in Stone Mountain when they came across the body.
The people called 911 around 3:45 p.m., alerting authorities to what they found.
Police say the body appears to be that of a woman in her late teens or early 20s. Investigators said she was fully clothed when the hikers found her.
Right now, investigators are working to find out the circumstances of how the body got there, but they do suspect possible foul play. Authorities said it appeared that the woman had been shot on the trail.
No other details were available, as the investigation is in its initial stages.

11Alive's Ashley Johnson spoke to Hermon Wilson, who's lived in the area for six years. He said this isn't the first time a body has been found near the trail.
"It is a very sad occasion, for a young person to lose their life like this," Wilson said. "This is like the third or fourth death that I've heard about right here in this small little area."
A medical examiner will now work to identify the young woman. Meanwhile, residents said they hope this latest incident will spur police to step up patrols in the area.
