HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — A Habersham County man faces felony charges after allegedly injuring a dog to the point of its death.
According to authorities, Habersham County Animal Control responded to a home off Dewberry Lane in Mt. Airy, Georgia on March 1. Sheriff's deputies were already there when they arrived.
Deputies told animal control that they found a 4-month-old pit bull mix dead behind the home.
Animal Control took the dog for a necropsy, which confirmed the dog had extensive internal injuries that appeared to have caused its death.
Officials secured a warrant for 21-year-old Ryan Drake Moore for the alleged abuse, charging him with felony cruelty to animals.
Officers took Moore to the Habersham County Sheriff's Office Detention Center where he was booked for the offense.
