ATLANTA -- Volunteers with the Georgia chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America gathered Thursday afternoon to try stop the latest gun bill.
Joined with survivors of gun violence, the volunteers delivered more than 20,000 signatures opposing House Bill 859 to the Georgia State Capitol.
The group hopes the movement will push Georgia Governor Nathan Deal to veto the bill, which would allow licensed individuals to carry and have possession of weapons while in certain places.
According to the group, HB859 ignores 78-percent of Georgians who oppose forcing guns onto college campuses.
