GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Authorities made two arrests on Thursday while looking into allegations that an employee of a senior living facility was stealing drugs.
The Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad executed a search warrant at the Ashton Senior Living facility on Friday afternoon. According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, which heads up the squad, they made two arrests in the case after receiving the tip of one staff member possibly stealing medication.
It's unclear who was arrested or if either were members of the staff. Officials would only confirm that their arrests were in connection with an ongoing investigation. Citing that investigation, authorities said they don't plan to release any more information at this time.
Ashton Senior Living, located on Enota Avenue in Gainesville, is one of two senior living facilities of the same name - the other being in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
The facility offers independent living arrangements along with various levels of assisted living. 11Alive has requested comment from the company that operates the facility.
