Chris Evans sent out the same cover letter over and over, is all of us

Career sites have said it time and time again: There is absolutely no excuse for anyone not to tailor their cover letters.

Career sites have said it time and time again: There is absolutely no excuse for anyone not to tailor their cover letters.

But like those of you who are currently lowering your heads in shame (we're with you), Chris Evans didn’t believe in reinventing the wheel either.

On Wednesday, the Captain America: Civil War actor shared that in the spring of 1998, during his junior year of high school, he sent the same cover letter to "DOZENS" of firms. To be fair, the openings were probably for unpaid internships because this is the land of the free — labor, that is.

In any case, the cover letter is just as vague as the dutifully researched "To Whom It May Concern" opener would suggest.

"I am writing this letter to introduce myself to you and to make myself available to your firm for possible internship work during the summer of 1998," Evans begins.

"I have been very actively involved in theatre for seven years and have chosen to spend the summer of 1998, taking acting classes on Saturdays at the Lee Strasburg Institute in New York City," he continues.

"Since my weekdays will be open, I was hoping to arrange an internship in the city allowing someone to take advantage of a hardworking individual like me, in exchange for a tremendous opportunity to be exposed to the business side of theatre. I have enclosed a resume for your review. I would greatly welcome any input you might have. I am currently planning on visiting New York City during the week of April 20th to April 26th. I could make myself available to you then or at any time you wish, should an interview be desired."

In a sign of the times, at least one summer position wasn't filled before the spring — and Evans nabbed it.

Was it really luck though, Chris? Was it really?
