The Duke Blue Devils will indeed have veteran big man Amile Jefferson next season.
The Atlantic Coast Conference has approved a medical hardship waiver, Duke announced Friday, making the 6-9 senior eligible to compete for the Blue Devils in 2016-17.
He missed all but nine games in 2015-16 after breaking his right foot in December. In those nine games, he averaged 11.4 points and 10.3 rebounds.
Duke will be loaded next season. Jefferson will be joined by high-scoring guard Grayson Allen (21.6 points a game), Luke Kennard (11.8 ppg), Matt Jones (10.4 ppg) plus a top-five recruiting class let by No.1 overall recruit Harry Giles, a dynamic 6-10 forward recovering from an injury himself.
