DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The waves off the coast of Florida harbor many things, but scientists spotted something pretty rare on Saturday – and earthquake.
The United States Geological Survey reports that a 3.7 magnitude quake struck about 104 miles northeast of Daytona Beach around 4 p.m.
The quake is considered minor and is one of more than 30,000 felt around the world each year but they’re considered fairly rare.
Still, NBC affiliate WESH in Orlando reports that a similar quake hit the oceans off of Florida’s coast in June.
