KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A member of Dolly Parton's family died Friday morning, according to a social media post from Stella Parton — one of Dolly's sisters and a country music star herself.
"My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but he got his angel wings and is now at peace," Stella said in her social media post.
A funeral home said David Parton was 82 years old and died in his White Pine home. In his obituary, he's described as a bridge builder who worked on bridges in Kingsport, Johnson City and Knoxville. It said he retired from Simpson Construction.
