Funeral arrangements announced for mother killed after saving daughter at dunes drag strip

The 33-year-old mother was a cancer survivor. She leaves behind a 6-year-old and her 2-year-old she pushed out of the way of a Jeep at a state park.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — In her last act in life, a 33-year-old mother pushed her toddler out of the way of an out-of-control vehicle at Silver Lake State Park Sand Dunes over Memorial Day weekend.

The family of Kadie Price announced funeral arrangements to lay her to rest next week.

Price was the mother of two, a 6-year-old and a 2-year-old, and married to Kent County Sheriff's Deputy Charles Price.

The family shared this statement with the community:

"Our family is truly grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support.

We all knew Kadie as a loving wife and fierce momma bear, but she was also an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie, niece, and cousin.

The greatest gift is family and Kadie made that her number one priority. Her world revolved around her kids. Many of us are going to try and help fill that void, but we all know a momma's love is irreplaceable. For all the special moms out there, get out from behind the camera and get in those pictures with your kids. It may be all they have left of you someday.

Please keep the McCool and Price families in your prayers."

Loved ones planned a celebration of life service on Thursday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at Ada Bible Church (East Paris Campus) with the Rev. Chris Paoni officiating.

The family asks that memorial contributions be shared in a fundraiser for her children.

The fundraiser on GiveSendGo is designed to help her children navigate life without her.

The community and other donors have raised more than $107,000 to support the family.
