ATLANTA — The New Orleans Pelicans will meet the Atlanta Hawks for the preseason opener at State Farm Arena this fall.
Four of the top 10 players selected in the 2019 NBA Draft are scheduled to make their preseason debuts during the Oct. 7 game.
For the Hawks, De'Andre Hunter, who was selected No. 4 overall, and Cam Reddish, selected at No. 10, will face off against New Orleans rookie Zion Williamson.
Williamson, the top draft pick, entered the league with arguably the most hype since LeBron James in 2003.
Williamson played for Duke and helped the team end with a 32-6 finish last season. And as his NBA career begins, he will have to go head-to-head with one of his college teammates in Reddish.
The Blue Devils were ranked nationally at No.1 for most of the season.
Atlanta’s Trae Young, John Collins and Kevin Huerter are also set to suit up in the club’s first exhibition contest for the upcoming season.
Demand for tickets to the game is expected to be very high. Get ticket information here.
