GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Police are investigating after a person was struck and killed near a Gwinnett County mall on Wednesday.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. in the area of Duluth Highway (Highway 120) and Atkinson Road next to Sugarloaf Mills mall.
According to Gwinnett County Police Corporal Wilbert Rundles, a person was struck by a vehicle. Corporal Rundles said the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It's not clear if who was at fault at this time.
The Gwinnett County Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit is on the scene. The victim's name has not yet been released pending notification of the family.
