ATLANTA -- The Atlanta bribery scandal that began almost two years is back in the spotlight after a new subpoena was issued last week in the case.
The subpoena dated July 16 was sent to City Attorney Nina Hickson. The U.S District Court for the Northern District of Georgia is asking for documents that date back to the last four years for an August grand jury.
The subpoena attachment requests the following documents from January 1, 2014, to January 15, 2018:
- All requests and approvals for any type of leave for each City of Atlanta Mayor's Cabinet member
- All records related to or associated with any payouts for any type of leave for each City of Atlanta Mayor's Cabinet member
- All policies, procedures, and training materials related to or associated with the request, approval, and use of any type of leave
- Annual balances for all types of leave for each City of Atlanta's Mayor's Cabinet member

The letter signed by U.S. Attorney Byung J. Pak said the federal grand jury subpoena requests the record for use in a federal investigation.
Nearly two years ago, the Justice Department subpoenaed 1.4 million documents from the City of Atlanta.
The court date is set for August 28 at 9 a.m., according to the subpoena.
