FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A monitoring team in place in Fulton County for the 2024 election found that it was run in a "smooth, transparent, and well-organized way," The Carter Center announced on Wednesday.
The Carter Center organized the monitoring mission for Fulton County, which saw significant outcry over its election administration following the 2020 election.

The team was led by the former general counsel of the Georgia Secretary of State's Office, Ryan Germany. It included former State Election Board chair Matt Mashburn, a Republican.
Mash burn said that in his 30 years of observing tabulation, he had "never seen a more orderly and organized process in Fulton County than I observed Tuesday (Election Day) night."
"On Election Day, observer teams visited all polling locations in Fulton County as well as the election hub," a Carter Center statement said. "Overall, the observers reported a consistent, accessible, and well-run process, with no significant irregularities, despite an external attempt to disrupt the elections through nearly 40 bomb threats targeting Fulton County polling places."
Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger said Tuesday there were over 60 bomb threats in Georgia during the election, with The Carter Center confirming the bulk of them were centered on Fulton County.
According to The Carter Center statement, the team observed election work including "poll worker training, equipment testing, absentee ballot processing, advance voting, Election Day voting, tabulation of results, chain of custody protocols, and additional election-related policies and processes."
It will continue to monitor post-election processes including "training, equipment testing, absentee ballot processing, advance voting, Election Day voting, tabulation of results, chain of custody protocols, and additional election-related policies and processes."
"The election observation mission commends election staff, poll workers, law enforcement, and board members for their work on behalf of the voters of Fulton County," The Carter Center statement said.
