ATLANTA — Former President Donald Trump is making another trip to the Peach State on Wednesday to campaign at a fundraiser.
This comes on the heels of a reportedly $50 million dollar fundraiser Trump had in Florida and just two weeks after President Joe Biden reportedly brought in $25 million.
Republican political analyst Brian Robinson of Robinson Republic Communications said the Biden and Trump campaigns are likely spending a lot of money per single vote in key states like Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Arizona. He said that, in most campaign cycles, both parties count on their loyal base of voters. However, he said the 2024 presidential election hangs in the balance of the occasional voter, and that’s where most campaigns will invest their funds.
“So you’re going to see huge operations on both sides targeting that person and making sure they go vote or trying to dissuade them from voting if you think they’re going to vote for the other guy," he said.
Robinson said candidates get their biggest return on voter investment right here in Georgia because of the amount of wealthy donors and swing voters.
“We are a two-for-one, you get the money, but you also get votes that matter,” Robison said.
He added that he believes the Biden campaign is outpacing the Trump campaign in part because, as the incumbent, the president didn't have to spend money on a primary, and the Democrats have done well raising money digitally.
The president and First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, have also made campaign stops in Georgia this year. Trump's last visit to metro Atlanta was just before the March primary
