WASHINGTON — The Associated Press officially called the final race of the 2024 Presidential Election, as President-elect Donald Trump flipped Arizona to win all seven battleground states en route to victory.
The win by the former president returned the longtime Republican stronghold of Arizona into the GOP column after President Joe Biden flipped it -- along with many others -- in 2020.
Four years ago, Biden won six of the seven battleground states in this year's election -- Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
But Trump flipped the script in 2024, and the Republicans recaptured victory in those six states -- including another win in battleground North Carolina.
Right here in Georgia, Trump gained about 200,000 votes as of Saturday night, with 99% reporting. In Pennsylvania, he gained about 133,000 votes. In Michigan, he gained about 155,000 votes. In Wisconsin, he gained roughly 87,000 votes. In Nevada, he gained around 59,000 votes (with 96% reporting). Arizona has reported 87% of its votes -- but enough for the AP to officially call the race.
In the popular vote, President-elect Trump has garnered 74,648,928 votes against Vice President Kamala Harris' 70,915,828 votes. Trump has already surpassed his 2020 vote total, when he received 74,224,319 votes.
