ATLANTA — Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign - despite the fact that he is a Republican.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday afternoon, Duncan announced his attention. He said he is "committed to beating Donald Trump" and sees siding with the Democratic party as his only option to do so.
"If that requires me to vote for, speak for, or endorse (Harris) then count me in!" the post says.
In May, Duncan announced that he would vote for President Joe Biden over former President Trump. His statement today reaffirmed his commitment to voting blue in November, even after Biden dropped out of the race.
Duncan served as lt. gov. from 2019-2023 after serving as a Georgia State Representative from 2013-2017.
