ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp responded to comments made by former President Donald Trump both at an Atlanta rally and on social media on Saturday.
During his rally in Atlanta, Trump blasted Kemp by calling him "disloyal" and explaining Kemp was only in his current position as governor due to his own endorsement while he was president. Trump's full comments can be seen at the bottom of this story.
On social media, Trump posted that he would "never have beaten Stacy Abrams" without his endorsement and criticized Kemp and Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp while speaking at his rally.
"Well, I don't want her Endorsement, and I don't want his," Trump said after previously stating in the post that the first lady had thanked him after endorsing Kemp's initial gubernatorial run.
Kemp clapped back on the comments made by Trump, saying his focus is on winning the presidential election come November and "not engaging in petty personal insults, attacking fellow Republicans, or dwelling on the past."
The Georgia governor wrapped it up simply: "You should do the same, Mr. President, and leave my family out of it."
