Joe and Jill Biden stop by Waffle House near The Battery after presidential debate

Regardless of the debate performance, Biden winded down the night by going to Georgia's most recognizable breakfast joint.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — It's almost impossible to make a trip to Georgia and not pay a visit to one of the Peach State's most famous eateries -- Waffle House.

That's where President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden stopped by following Thursday night's highly-watched presidential debate with former President Donald Trump. The couple stopped by 2758 Cobb Parkway SE in Cobb County for a late-night meal.

11Alive was at the Waffle House and spotted the motorcade coming down Cobb Parkway, just across the street from The Battery near Interstates 75 and 285.

Both Bidens were seen walking into the Waffle House with a crowd of people near the entrance to the restaurant.

The visit came directly after Biden garnered questions about his ability to serve another term after his halting delivery in a head-to-head battle with Trump in the first presidential debate of the year between two aging candidates in what is expected to be a hotly contested presidential election come November.

During the 90-minute event, the candidates spoke about a range of topics, including abortion and immigration.

But nonetheless, regardless of the performance, Biden winded down the night by going to Georgia's most recognizable breakfast joint.

Whether it was hash browns smothered and covered or an All-Star Special, before they left, one of his secret service agents was seen carrying a to-go bag full of food back out to the motorcade.
